Reflexology is the technique of applying gentle pressure with the thumb and fingers to areas or reflexes, of the feet or hands, which are considered to correspond to different parts of the body and respond in a beneficial manner. During a treatment, working on these reflexes can identify and correct any areas that are out of balance, stimulating them to release any blockages and impurities, therefore restoring the free flow of energy throughout the whole body. It naturally stimulates the body’s own healing mechanisms to improve circulation, remove waste deposits, congestion and with a course of treatment helps maintain good health along with an improvement in physical symptoms.

Reflexology aims to optimise physical and emotional health and is a holistic, non-invasive, drug-free complimentary therapy. It is a completely natural way of helping the body to heal itself, following illness, injury, disease or prolonged stress which has left the body in a state of imbalance, preventing it from functioning efficiently.

Long working hours, hectic lifestyles and unhelpful habits often contribute to throwing the body out of balance, resulting in physical and mental conditions which reflexology can be of great help with. It is beneficial for many conditions helping to reduce stress and anxiety along with promoting relaxation. There is growing evidence that reflexology can help reduce pain in conditions such as arthritis and headaches, reduce fatigue and improve mood and quality-of-life. As well as improving sleep patterns, stress, migraines, hormonal imbalances, digestive problems, back pain, joint pains and many other conditions. Additionally, it is being increasingly considered that reflexology is effective in reducing side-effects of serious health conditions such as cancer related pain, nausea, sleeplessness, mood and anxiety issues.

You do not have to be unwell to receive reflexology as it is a beneficial, enjoyable treatment for relaxation, improving well-being, supporting the immune system and maintaining good health, with clients feeling deeply calm, relaxed and with a greater sense of well-being and emotional balance after a course of treatment.

There are many conditions reflexology can treat whether acute or chronic, for people of all ages from the very young to the elderly and after an initial consultation to assess someone’s requirements, the treatment is adapted according to your individual needs.
